This affects not only individual users but also social inclusion and economic participation. Websites that are not accessible risk losing potential customers and may also face legal consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The four principles of WCAG<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Perceivable<\/strong>: Make sure all users can perceive the information on your website. This includes adding alt text to images and ensuring sufficient contrast throughout your site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Operable:<\/strong> Your website must be easy to operate, for example by allowing users to navigate with a keyboard and not only with a mouse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Understandable:<\/strong> The content on your website must be clear and easy to understand. Consistent terminology and predictable navigation play an important role in this.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Robust:<\/strong> Your website must function reliably across different devices and browsers and be compatible with assistive technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Guidelines and levels of compliance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The WCAG guidelines are divided into three levels of compliance: A, AA, and AAA. Starting in June 2025, every new website must meet at least levels A and AA.
