A new category structure and a refreshed design, built around the visitor's ease of use
Livistelo sells to both retail and business customers through its own webshop. As the product range grew, the existing layout became increasingly difficult for visitors to navigate. Trienekens Online rebuilt the webshop: featuring a logical category structure, a renewed design, and a strong focus on user-friendliness.

Livistelo's old webshop looked outdated and was cumbersome for visitors to use. Categories were illogically structured, meaning products were placed in locations that didn't feel intuitive. Searching for a specific product also did not go smoothly. This cost Livistelo revenue and created unnecessary pressure on customer service.
We started with an analysis of the entire product range and the way visitors actually search and click. Based on that, we set up a new category structure and visually redesigned the webshop. Every step in the navigation was tested for user-friendliness, so that visitors find what they are looking for faster and more easily make the step toward a purchase.
The foundation of a good webshop lies in clean product data. We have transferred the entire assortment in a structured manner to WooCommerce, with correct categories, attributes, and price displays. Afterwards, we built the shop view around a thoughtful design, with an improved search function so visitors can quickly find the right product. Livistelo can easily continue to manage categories and products themselves.
Not every challenge was visible to the visitor, but they were crucial for how smoothly the webshop runs.
As project manager and developer, I was closely involved in Livistelo's new webshop, from the initial analysis of the category structure to the final technology under the hood.
What made this project fun was the combination of UX work and engineering: we had to migrate hundreds of products without errors, properly manage the display of prices including and excluding VAT, and keep the website fast, even during peak traffic. For the product descriptions, we also made smart use of AI automation, ensuring every description was consistent and compelling without taking weeks.
The result is an online store that not only looks better, but actually works easier for the visitor. That is exactly what we do it for at Trienekens Online.
